A good example of the famous Boosey and Hawkes
Symphony 1010. matching serial nos. 80310 probably made in the late 1940's. It is showing its age, there are scuffs marks to the wood and the silver plating is generally good but worn. There are no cracks or evidence of crack repairs. The barrel has a metal lining to the tenons which creates a nice firm fit. The pads are mainly leather in good shape with cork in the speaker. This is not a student or intermediate clarinet it is a professional instrument suiting an aspiring player moving up to higher grades or a collector of great historic instruments. It may also be attractive to a professional player or doubler looking for a bargain priced professional model. The 1010 mouthpiece is in excellent condition. The case is original, tatty but of sturdy construction with no keys. I suppose the nearest instrument to this is a Peter Eaton Elite, which was around £2593. Penarth nr Cardiff View full advert
